Forklift drivers work in a demanding environment with many risks to health. It is vital that forklift drivers remain healthy.  Health and Safety Executive (HSE) do not detail the medical requirements of forklift drivers. They suggest Group 1 standards for most situations for Forklift drivers. However more stringent activities, such as working at night would require group 2 standards. What do I need?

Please Bring to your Medical:

You should bring your Medical Form, and also your Photo ID. In addition, your driving glasses/contact lenses & prescription. Also bring any details of any ongoing medical conditions plus any medication you are taking. Furthermore, please bring your medical records where required.

What will happen at my medical Involve?

This will include a medical questionnaire. Your height and weight measurement, also a blood pressure measurement and vision assessment. This will be conducted to the group 2 standards set out by the DVLA. Once the examination is passed, you will be provided with your Forklift Driver Medical certificate (within 72 hours). This will stipulate the length of fitness depending on your examination.
