What’s included in the BCG Scar Check appointment:
During your Scar Check appointment, our qualified healthcare professional will:

Assess the presence of a scar: The healthcare professional will carefully examine the area where the BCG vaccine was administered to determine if a scar is present.

Provide confirmation or guidance: If a scar is present, you will receive a confirmation letter, which serves as evidence of prior BCG vaccination. This can be helpful for occupational health requirements or travel purposes. The confirmation letter will be sent to you electronically immediately after the appointment.
- Offer guidance for further action: If a scar is not present, our healthcare professional will provide you with guidance on the next steps. This may involve discussing the option of a repeat BCG vaccination or referring you to a healthcare provider who can provide further evaluation.
Please note that our BCG Scar Check Service is strictly for assessing the presence of a scar and not for diagnosing active tuberculosis. If you suspect you have TB symptoms or need a TB diagnosis, please speak to your GP
